National AutoBody Research (NABR) Teams with Quality Body Works To Launch VRS Labor Rate Survey in Northern California
TUCSON, ARIZONA - August 5, 2015 – Today, NABR announces the launch of the Dave & Skip Creech VRS Labor Rate Survey for Northern California, sponsored by Quality Body Works, Inc. of Eureka, California.
The Survey is free to all Northern California collision repair shops and can be found on the NABR website.
The VRS Survey provides Northern California shops an independent, third-party source of state-wide labor rate data, based on shops’ actual prices, not on an artificially defined single prevailing rate, thereby revealing the true, market-based labor rate ranges throughout Northern California.
“Our industry has gotten to a point of being afraid to even say the words labor rate to each other,” said Dave Creech, co-owner of Quality Body Works in Eureka, California. “There is nothing illegal in telling someone what your rates are. You can post them in the newspaper, on your office wall, or on Facebook if you want to. Now the latest from insurers is ‘that’s what we pay in your area according to our rate survey’ even though they can never show us a survey. The VRS Labor Rate Survey brings a consistent format for all shops to use, to conduct a true labor rate survey with results that everyone can see. This fills tremendous need in the industry and is a great help for both shops and insurance companies to use in establishing the true, market-based rate ranges in a given area.”
"We are extremely enthusiastic to partner with Dave and Skip Creech to bring the VRS survey technology to Northern California,” said Richard Valenzuela, CEO of NABR. “The urgency for shops to properly price their labor could not be greater than it is right now. The great news is that shops can use the Variable Rate System today to make an immediate impact to their own rates and the overall prices in their markets, positively improving their profitability.”
Northern California survey results at the state level are open and available for all to see at no charge, while VRS subscribers gain even greater visibility to labor rates by many factors including mileage range, training, equipment, certifications, vehicle make, and more. This enables shops to better define their geographic market and to find apples-to-apples comparisons to their own shop, thus finding a truer, more appropriate market labor rate range for their individual shop than the one so-called prevailing rate.
To the see innovative Variable Rate System for themselves, any shop may request a free, no-obligation demo of the full VRS, to see firsthand how the system can help them raise and collect higher rates and generate greater profits.
Other states currently running the VRS Labor Rate survey include Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas.
