National AutoBody Research (NABR) Teams with Blake’s Collision Center To Launch VRS Labor Rate Survey in Indiana

Indiana becomes the eighth state to unite with NABR to help restore the free market to labor rate pricing in the collision repair industry.

TUCSON, ARIZONA and LaPORTE, INDIANA - JULY 7, 2015 – Today, NABR announces the launch of the Blake’s Collision Center / VRS Labor Rate Survey in Indiana.  The Survey is free to all Indiana collision repair shops and is immediately available online.

The VRS Survey provides Indiana shops an independent, third-party source of state-wide labor rate data, based on shops’ actual prices, not on an artificially defined single prevailing rate, thereby revealing the true, market-based labor rate ranges in Indiana.

“The number one issue we shops have is profitability,” said Scott Blake, owner of Blake’s Collision Center in LaPorte, Indiana.  “A profitable business starts by knowing your competition, your cost of doing business, and your profit margins, which are considerably impacted by your labor rate.  With the VRS, now shops have a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind system to better understand their competition, calculate their cost of doing business, and determine the right labor rates for their individual shop.  While I encourage every shop in the industry to subscribe and advance their own business, taking the free Blake Collision VRS Survey is the first small but very important step on the road toward higher rates and greater profitability.”

"We are extremely pleased to partner with Scott Blake and bring the VRS technology to Indiana,” said Richard Valenzuela, CEO of NABR.  “The urgency for shops to properly price their labor could not be greater than it is right now.  The great news is that they can use the VRS today to make an immediate impact to their own rates and the overall prices in their markets, and thereby positively improve their profitability.”

Survey results at the state level are open and available for all to see at no charge, while VRS subscribers gain even greater visibility to labor rates by many factors including mileage range, training, equipment, certifications, vehicle make, and more.  This enables shops to better define their geographic market and to find apples-to-apples comparisons to their shop, thereby finding a truer, more appropriate market labor rate range for their individual shop than the one so-called prevailing rate.

To the see innovative Variable Rate System for themselves, any shop may request a free, no-obligation demo of the full VRS, to see firsthand how the system can help them raise and collect higher rates and generate greater profits.

Other states that are currently running the VRS Labor Rate survey include Florida, Georgia, Idaho, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas.
